The Caravan Club was founded in 1907 and in 1908, the first Rally took place one hundred years on. The Club can boast 200 Club sites with 2,500 CLs for all to enjoy.
However around 13% of members still regularly enjoy the Rally field. The Club today is divided into regions and between them have 70 Centres across the entire country these are run by it’s members for it’s members.
The Shropshire Centre have around 35 Rallies a year commencing from March through to November. Who can blame anyone wanting to get away from work on a Friday for a weekend to meet up with new and old friends. Nor can we ignore the fact that we are currently in a recession, the credit crunch rumbles on but be honest who else can offer you a weekend away for less than £20 for the family - and enjoy a cuppa at flag in the price!

If you’ve never been to a Centre Rally please give it a try in 2010, our Centre has free and easy weekends, visit a local event or the Club could involve a social where the Rally Marshals organise some kind of event, nothing over the top just a bit of light hearted fun. The rally could be in a pretty farmers field, a village hall or at a caravan site with full amenities.
Caravans are pretty well set up these days so don’t think that you can’t cope going to a farmers field without mains electricity and showers, it’s only for a weekend and with a healthy heavy duty battery you can just about have everything.
This year we've got planned seven five day rallies and two fortnight rallies at less than £200 for a family. Not forgetting this year sees the National Rally being held on the Shropshire and Staffordshire border at Weston Park and although it is a lovely setting it would be a shame if that’s all you have seen of the spectacular county of Shropshire. We are so lucky to have some of the most beautiful un-spoilt countryside in Britain, so whether you live in Shropshire and are a member who hasn’t yet been to a Rally or a visitor from another Centre, we would love it if you could join us for the weekend so go on give it a try.
