RALLY SECRETARY’S LETTER

Hi, this is my third year being your Rally Secretary and I hope we have included rallies with places to visit which may be of interest to you. The Shropshire Centre is 45 years old and we really need your help, you will have noticed that with the agreement of the Committee, we have reduced the number of Rallies we are holding in 2012, this is sadly due to the dwindling numbers actually turning out at weekends, unfortunately the recession still controls our hard earned leisure money, but where else can you get away from Friday lunchtime to late Sunday afternoon for less than one nights pitch on a site and you’d have to be off by 11 the next morning. No rallying cannot offer all the time the amenities some people ask for but take a look at your outfit and you will discover it can perfectly cope for a few days without the need to plug into the mains and like.  Please don’t also assume that as you haven’t been on a rally for a while that others are supporting the Centre.This has not been the case for the Shropshire’s and other small Centres and if this trend continues these Centres may fold.The Caravan Club are behind all the Centres and with the help of the their website with new links to Centre rallies and more closer to home the West Central Region are at hand to support us. The Centre is run by members for members and it’s up to us all to support the Centre. Also you’ll notice that we have included the National at nearby Eastnor Castle, Ledbury and invitations from other Centres to special rallies and also the Centres visiting Shropshire where you’d be made most welcome. Thanks to all who have volunteered to be marshals for the year and whether you’re old or new members we hope to see you on the rally field really soon.
