Chairmans Message 2017/18

Dear Members

Welcome to the Shropshire Centre Caravan and Motor Home Club. In this my 2nd year as Chairman and 5th year on the committee. I love to caravan to get away with my family and friends and spend quality down time with them. At home, I, like all of us get too caught up in the hustle and bustle of work, family and home life. There is always something to do, never time just to stop and relax. Caravanning is my escape and it’s great just to get away even if it’s only a mile from home! Once you’re away in your caravan or motorhome it doesn’t matter where you go, you’re on holiday.

It is a great way to have a great family holiday and relax, meet new people and see parts of the countryside you would never normally visit as there are some amazing treasures just on your doorstep. You may drive past them every day and not even know they are even there. Our caravan rallies are just like a site or CL. Some with or without electricity, you can have a great time in your caravan away from the grid.  Just ask us or any of our regular ralliers, you can survive without being fully connected.

My family and I look forward to meeting you and if you haven’t rallied before and have any concerns, just come and see us on one of our rallies, either with or without your van, just to see what it’s all about. Or just give me a call or drop me an email if you have any questions.

Finally this is a great way to meet new friends and catch up with old ones.

Hope to see you soon

                                                                   SECRETARY’S LETTER 2017-18

Hello and welcome to all members new and old.

The wonderful thing about rallies is that you can do as much or as little as you want. We offer a wide variety of venues so hopefully you will find at least one that will suit. Many new members who haven’t rallied before feel that they need an electric hook up to be able to survive a weekend. This is just not true. A good leisure battery will suffice and if it needs topping up then a solar panel is all you need. Once you realise you can cope without mains then it opens up so many places you wouldn’t normally visit. Rally fields are often wide open spaces where your little ones can run about in safety and burn off excess energy and with all that fresh air they should sleep soundly at night.

Our caravans are a costly investment so why only use them for 2 weeks in the summer and the odd weekend. Rallying is an inexpensive way to see beautiful parts of your County you may not normally get to see with a fantastic bunch of like-minded people.

            VICE CHAIRMANS LETTERS 2017-18

Welcome all to your Club.

My first year as Vice Chairman for the Club, and a relative newcomer to our own family caravanning adventures. Cutting my teeth at a young age on the rally scene when my parents were regularly involved in rally marshaling, those fond memories are still cemented.

Having spent over the last decade camping with my wife Lisa and 3 children Charlie, Madi and Dexter, I finally convinced her that a ‘Tin Tent’ was the way ahead!

We have never looked back since rallying with the Club. It’s taken us to locations that keep us all entertained over a weekend with good company!

Looking forward to new challenges, but more importantly meeting ralliers from previous years and equally future newcomers yet to join us and realise this affordable, enjoyable and relaxing pastime.

Vice Chairman

Following my brothers foot step into the job of vice-chairman is a real surprise, even though I grew up caravanning as child, although I have only had my own caravan for a short time. I have settled back into rallying like a duck to water, now with my own family in tow I now get to enjoy seeing my own children run around the fields playing as our parents watched Mark and I years ago. The club has a good variety members from all ages and walks of life, so there is always a friendly face to welcome new and existing members. We have really enjoyed the activities during the rally weekends and hope that you will join us on our future rallies in 2018.
